What education do I need to be a Picture Editor at a Magazine?
I have a Media degree, and currently work in a photographic studio as a stylist, occassionally putting clients photos together to create a photographic montage etc. I ultimately would like to be a picture editor for a magazine. Does my degree and experience make me eligible to work in such an industry. What else would I need?

- Generally speaking a Picture Editor (in my experience) will be a former photographer, chief photographer or senior designer. The main skill required is the ability to know how to use an image. You'll also be involved in negotiating rights for third-party images, so those skills will be useful too. Personally I think experience is better than any degree, but it will be your degree that will get you into the industry in the first place.
